The
Seven Colors of Grace, Part 6,
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow
The
Rainbow
The heavens declare
the glory of God (Psalm 19:1 NKJV).
When
it’s cloudy weather, don’t miss your rainbow. It is for a token of the covenant
between God and you. God the Father whose name is Love, whose will is love, set
His rainbow in the clouds as a reminder of His love. The rainbow of the love of
God is set in every cloud that ever darkens your sky. -Amy
Carmichael
Here
is a brief review of the previous 5 postings:
The seven colors of grace is like no other visual on earth. It is God’s original artwork
painted with a combination of colors found nowhere else in creation. The
beauty of the rainbow leaves us in awe.
The seven colors of grace can assure every heart and every life that we can pass from
death to life, from darkness to light, from judgment to mercy, from guilt to
forgiveness, from emptiness to fullness, and from aimlessness to
purposefulness.
The
seven colors in the rainbow can be likened to seven streams of grace flowing
together to form one radiant river of light that flows from God’s heart to our
hearts. Every blessing is a grace blessing, every gift is a grace gift, every
favor is a grace favor. These blessings, these gifts, these favors will bring
God’s hope to our hearts.
For
out of His fullness [the superabundance of His grace and truth] we have all
received grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor
upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift] (John 1:16 – AMP).
In a
unique way, each color in the rainbow symbolizes an aspect of grace that is
found in one of the biblical names of Jesus Christ.
Red-Jesus, is the Lamb of
God!
Red
is the first color in the rainbow and the starting point of our salvation. Red
represents the shed blood of Jesus Christ upon the cross. It is the blood of
the covenant of God’s grace providing our redemption. His blood, like a healing
stream, can cleanse every sinful heart in need of forgiveness. How wonderful it
is to begin each day knowing you are forgiven!
In
Jesus we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins (Colossians
1:14).
Orange-Jesus, the Light of the
World.
Orange
represents the flame of light. Within the Tabernacle and the Temple stood the
menorah. It was a seven-lamp lampstand that provided the only source of light
in the Holy Place. Without the lampstand’s flame the Holy Place would be in
total darkness. Without the light of Jesus within us, our hearts would be in
total darkness. His light makes it possible to walk in God’s ways and have His
light upon our pathway.
Jesus
said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in
darkness, but have the light of life” (John 8:12).
- The rainbow, and every other Bible promise, begins with God.
- What God has promised is made possible for us to know and experience because of God’s grace.
- Grace is extended to us through Jesus Christ.
- Our faith receives from Jesus all the riches of His grace.
- It is our faith that brings hope to our hearts. (Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1 NKJV).
