Answered Prayer

Answered Prayer
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Each of us should carry a thankful heart for every “yes” we receive from God as an answer to prayer. We can also be thankful He doesn’t say “yes” to prayers that are not in agreement with His will—prayers that are based on our wisdom and not on His; that would bring leanness to our souls; that would put us in the wrong place; that would make us ineffective; that would bring us into wrong relationships; that would cause our hearts to cool; that would keep us from His highest and rob us of His best.
...

I know not by what methods rare,
But this I know, God answers prayer.
I know He gives His pledged word
Which tells me prayer is always heard,
And will be answered soon or late,
Though often it is hard to wait.
I know not if the blessing sought
Will come in just the way I thought;
I leave my prayer with Him alone,
Whose will is wiser than my own,
Assured that He will grant my quest,
Or send an answer far more blest.
-Unknown

And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us (1 John 5:14 AMP).

My Morning Prayer: God Has Promised, Part 3

My Morning Prayer: God Has Promised, Part 3
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

God Has Promised, Part 3
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Trust the heart of the Promise Giver: We will not have the confidence we need to pray unless we trust in the character of the One who has spoken the promises. Often people who make promises to us also tell us to trust them. They may be sincere in their request, but even the best intentions are flawed by human weakness, forgetfulness, and limited resources.

There are no flaws in God’s character and no empty words in His promises. We can be thankful that as we ask for our daily bread, we do not call upon a God with human weaknesses or limitations, but upon the One who loves us with a perfect love and has promised to supply all our needs from His glorious riches that have been given to us in Jesus Christ.

God is not a man that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19 AMPC).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Lord, I am weary. The turmoil in the world wears me down and distracts me from keeping my eyes on You. People who are in places of authority and attention make promises to us and tell us to trust them. Because of their human weakness, forgetfulness, and limited resources, I can't trust them to follow through! Only You are perfect, and can be trusted. You alone are dependable! Capture my gaze and help me to keep my eyes upon You and Your perfect love. Help me to remember that You will supply all of my needs from Your glorious riches. No matter what is going on in my life, my neighborhood, my city, this world, You are ALWAYS in control. You are never surprised or caught off guard. You have a purpose for all things, and sometimes it's just for me to draw closer to You. Give me courage to trust You in these hard seasons. I know that You love me and care for me. In Jesus's name, amen.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 39

Timely Tidbits of Truth 39
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Jesus died on the cross for a special reason—you are that reason…and that is reason enough!

If a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? (Matthew 18:12 KJV)

I lay down my life for the sheep (John 10:15 KJV).

Jesus: The Foundation

 Jesus: The Foundation
-Roy Lessin, Jesus Name Above All Names

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste (Isaiah 28:16 KJV).

We cannot put our trust in people, in things, or in the systems of this world. The world's greatest kingdoms have fallen; the world's biggest armies have known defeat; the world's noblest kings have lost their power; the world's mightiest warriors have lost their strength. Everything in the world will suffer decay; everything is temporary. There is nothing that is safe or secure that is based upon man or his ways, and lives that are built upon poor foundations will collapse in the storms of life. Jesus, our Foundation, is the only one we can build our lives upon and not face ruin.

The Bible tells us that God will shake everything that is shakable; only what cannot be shaken will remain. Jesus Christ is the solid foundation of our faith. Nothing you have in Christ can be lost or destroyed when you stand upon His solid ground.

Let you life stand on Christ, for His foundation is unshakable.

Let your hope rest in Christ, for His foundation is unmovable.

Let your heart trust in Christ, for His foundation is indestructible.

...

My hope is build on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness...
On Christ the solid Rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand.

My Morning Prayer, God Has Promised, Part 2

My Morning Prayer: God Has Promised, Part 2
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

God Has Promised (Part 2)
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Pray the promises: In addition to the importance of knowing God’s promises is the importance of praying His promises. When we buy a car we are also given a key. Without the key the car just sits. Even when we insert the key, we still must turn the key to get things moving. Prayer is like turning the key, it puts His promises into motion (Luke 11:9–13).

All of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for His glory (2 Corinthians 1:20 NLT).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Thank You, Father, for Your Word that reminds me of Your promises to me and all whom You love. Thank You for the "key" to these promises, our prayers! Help me to remember that You love to hear from me, and that You are always waiting to hear from me. Whether I have requests, or am praying Your promises, let me prioritize my time of speaking and listening to You. Help me to pray before I act on my own. Help me to trust You with every aspect of my life, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I love You and want to live a life pleasing to You in every way. Change me, change me, change me! Make me to be more like You. In Jesus's name, amen.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 38, Timing

Timely Tidbits of Truth 38, Timing
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Some things are for now.
Some things are for later.
We need to be faithful in what is before us now.
We need to be patient for what is yet to come.

You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near (James 5:8 NLT).

Many or Few

Many or Few
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount was spoken to a multitude (Matthew 5).

His message about living water was spoken to only one person at a well (John 4).

His message about being born again was also spoken to only one person at night (John 3).

The greatest Bible class ever taught was given by Jesus to only two men He had encountered on a dusty road (Luke 24).

Jesus talking with Moses and Elijah on a mountain top was only witnessed by three disciples (Mark 9).

When God gives you something to say or do—whether it be to a multitude, to one person, or to any number in-between…
Do it. Say it.
Fully. Faithfully.
It counts! It’s important! It matters!

Even the things that go unseen or unknown by others, will always be seen and known by a divine audience.

Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful (1 Corinthians 4:2 NIV).

My Morning Prayer: God Has Promised, Part 1

My Morning Prayer: God Has Promised, Part 1
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

God Has Promised, Part 1
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Know the promises: God has spoken promises to us. Those promises are recorded in Scripture so we can know what is in His heart toward us. His promises will keep us from praying amiss. His promises are not fleeting words of emotion, they are words of truth. Without the truth of His promises we could be overcome with superstition, timidity, and anxiety. It is because of His promises that we can live a life of freedom, confidence, and contentment.

Because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires (2 Peter 1:4 NLT).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Good morning, God. Thank You for Your promises, so boldly written in Your Word, the Bible. Thank You that I can know Your heart towards me and all people. Thank You that we can know Your promises, and can pray them for protection against being overcome from superstition, timidity, and anxiety. It is because of Your promises that we can live a life of freedom, confidence, and contentment every day with You! Write Your promises upon my heart! In Jesus's name, amen.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 37

In everything,
God can do anything…
But, one thing He cannot do,
is fail.

I will not…allow My faithfulness to fail (Psalm 89:33 NKJV).

Life’s Highest Purpose

Life’s Highest Purpose
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

God made you for Himself.
Knowing Him is your highest purpose.
Nothing about your life “just happened”.
Luck doesn’t define your existence.
Nothing about you is meaningless.
You are uniquely and wonderfully made by a wonderful, caring Creator!

Always remember, He saw all of your days before you lived one of them. You are here in His perfect time. Nothing can stand in the way of His plan for your life. Today, and in every tomorrow, He will be with you in goodness, and in faithfulness. Trust Him fully, follow Him completely, please Him whole-heartedly, and never look back. His best for you is still ahead!

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago (Ephesians 2:10 NLT).

My Morning Prayer: The Lord Is Near

My Morning Prayer: The Lord Is Near
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

The Lord is Near
-Roy Lessin

What could be sweeter or dearer than to know that no one is nearer to your heart, your soul, or your deepest desires than the Lord. His caring eyes are upon you, His protecting hands are over you, His assuring voice speaks peace to you, His loving heart responds to you. You can come to Him in quietness and confidence, in faith, in hope, in trust, in thanks, in worship, in praise, and in prayer.

He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5 NKJV).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Good morning, God. Thank You for keeping Your eyes upon me, my life, and those I love. Thank You for Your hands showing Your involvement in my life. Thank You for Your love, and the way You show Your care for my heart, spiritually, romantically, and physically. I love that I can come to You in quietness, confidence, faith, hope and trust...in thanksgiving, worship, praise, and in prayer. Your presence is the best constant in my life, in this turbulent world, and in these crazy times. In all things, in all ways, I trust You and Your will for me. Thank You Lord Jesus. It's in Your name I pray, amen.

God has promised to supply all our needs.
He has not promised to eliminate them.

God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 AMP

He and Ewe

He and Ewe
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Sheep don’t need a compass
To lead them as they go.
They don’t need a scooter
If their pace is kinda slow.

Sheep are needy creatures
That require lots of care.
Without a faithful Shepherd
They will wander anywhere.

Sheep don’t need a mighty roar
To send their foes to flight.
They don’t need to build a pen
To safely sleep at night.

Sheep don’t need a clever plan
To find a place to feed.
They just need a Shepherd
Who will meet their every need.

The Lord is your Shepherd!

For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture,
And the sheep of His hand.
Psalm 95:7 NKJV
