Timely Tidbits of Truth 31

Timely Tidbits of Truth 31
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Jesus is such a wonderful friend. He shares His heart with us, walks beside us, encourages us, believes in us, loves us, listens to us, cares about us, is praying for us, and will come again for us to bring us to His home forever.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13 KJV).

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also (John 14:3 KJV).

He's Your God

He’s Your God
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

He’s your God in the sunshine,
He’s your God in the rain,
He’s your God in the laughter,
He’s your God in the pain.

He’s your God in the springtime,
He’s your God in the fall,
He’s your God in the silence,
He’s your God in the call.

He’s your God in the quiet,
He’s your God in the test,
He’s your God in the battle,
He’s your God in the rest.

He’s your God in the heat wave,
He’s your God in the chill,
He’s your God in the whirlwind,
He’s your God in the still.

In light time and dark time
In the valleys and peaks,
He’s the God who holds you,
He’s the God who keeps.

“I will take you by the hand and will keep you” (Isaiah 42:6 AMP).

My Morning Prayer: God’s Love for You

My Morning Prayer: God’s Love for You
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

God's Love for You
-Roy Lessin

Child of God, how does He love you?

He loves you—
With an everlasting love;
With a perfect love;
With a pure love;
With a sacrificial love;
With an unfailing love;
With a steadfast love;
With a kind love;
With a forgiving love;
With an accepting love;
With an all-embracing love;
With an enduring love;
With a truthful love;
With a holy love;
With a gracious love;
With a patient love.

The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you” (Jeremiah 31:3 NKJV).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

My gracious Heavenly Father, good morning! You are the only source of pure and perfect love, and although You surround me with it, I forget it so easily!

When I'm feeling unlovable, You remind me that You created me on purpose and according to Your plan for my life—and not according to the worlds' standards, but Your heavenly ones. When I'm feeling my heart turn ugly, remind me of the many ways I've seen Your love at work, and help me release the ties that entangle me to the sins of this world and to claim the victory because of who You are at work in my life.

When I'm feeling alone, remind me where You are in my life. Help me to invite You into every day, every moment, every situation—to know that You are with me and for me, not for my glory but for Your kingdom's growth and glory. Let Your light shine through me and point others to You...because of Your love for me and them...and Your desire to know us and be involved intimately in our lives. Lord, I need You...WE need You! We need MORE of You, every hour we need You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 30: 5 Ways Knowledge Can Create Humility

Timely Tidbits of Truth 30: 5 Ways Knowledge Can Create Humility
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

1. There is nothing you will learn that God hasn’t already known.

2. Whatever insight God gives to you doesn’t mean you’re the only one God has revealed it to.

3. Knowledge you receive from God is not given because of your merits, but because of His grace.

4. The more you know about one thing, the less you will know about other things.

5. Most of the people who come to you with a need want to know how much you care, more than they want to know how much knowledge you have.

All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble" (1 Peter 5:5 NIV).

Lord, Speak with Power, Comfort & Clarity

Lord, Speak with Power, Comfort & Clarity
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Lord, no one speaks with the power of Your voice
You said “Come forth” and the dead lived again; You said, “Rise, take up your bed and walk” and the feeble could stand to their feet; You said, “Go wash in the Pool of Siloam” and clear images flooded darkened eyes.
Lord, no one speaks with the comfort of Your voice
It calls me as a shepherd to its lost lamb; it soothes me as a mother to her hurting child; it woos me as a bridegroom to his bride; it reassures me as a friend to his companion.
it calls me as a shepherd to its lost lamb; it soothes me as a mother to her hurting child; it woos me as a bridegroom to his bride; it reassures me as a friend to his companion.
Lord, no one speaks with the clarity of Your voice
You speak words of light to shine upon my path; You speak words of nourishment to feed my soul; You speak words of truth to make me wise; You speak words of vitality to make me whole.

Lord, speak, for your servant hears.
You who speak love, my heart is listening;
You who speak hope, my heart is trusting,
You who speak life, my heart is receiving.
You who speak love, my heart is listening;
You who speak hope, my heart is trusting,
You who speak life, my heart is receiving.

Never has a man spoken the way this man speaks.” John 7:46

My Morning Prayer: The Yoke of Jesus

My Morning Prayer: The Yoke of Jesus
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

The Yoke of Jesus
-Roy Lessin

I delight to do Your will, O my God (Psalm 40:8 NKJV).

If you are heavy laden, come and receive Jesus’s easy yoke; if you are stressed, come and receive Jesus’s light burden; if you are weary, come and receive Jesus’s rest. When you are yoked to Jesus you are not yoked to heaviness, drudgery, or despair.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Good Morning, Father. Thank You for the freedom and peace I am offered through communing with You. Thank You for giving me Your easy yoke in exchange for my stressful, tiresome and heavy burdens. I ask You to remind me of the opportunity to lay down the things that trip me up and bury me in day-to-day life. I ask You to relieve me of the drudgery and despair that the world wants to place on me, and I gladly lay these things at Your feet and ask You to work Your will in them and through me. I want Your will to be done in my life, victoriously! In Jesus' name, amen.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 29: Wonderfully Designed!

Timely Tidbits of Truth 29: Wonderfully Designed!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Your body was designed to know and enjoy the world.
Your soul was designed to know and enjoy others.
Your spirit was designed to know and enjoy God.
Your heart was designed to bring God’s holy love to every part of your being—spirit, soul, and body.

The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us (Romans 5:5 NKJV).

Needy

Needy
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Jesus, You spoke the word and the storm became still. Lord, I need a word like that.
Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm (Mark 4:39 NKJV).

Jesus, those who touched the hem of Your garment were made whole. Lord, I need a healing like that.
Wherever he went—in villages, cities, or the countryside—they brought the sick out to the marketplaces. They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed (Mark 6:56 NLT).

Jesus, You gave the spiritually hungry living Bread. Lord, I need to be fed like that.
Yes, I am the bread of life! Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they all died. Anyone who eats the bread from heaven, however, will never die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.” (John 6:48-51 NLT).

Jesus, You placed Your hands upon the children and blessed them. Lord, I need a touch like that.
Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them (Mark 10:16 NLT).

Jesus, You blessed the bread and the wine as You communed with Your disciples. Lord, I need fellowship like that.
While they were eating, He took some bread, and after a blessing He broke it, and gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is My body.” And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. And He said to them, “This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many (Mark 14:22-24 NIV).

Jesus, You said You go before Your sheep and they follow You. Lord, I need guidance like that.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber. “But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep. “To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. “When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice (John 10:1-4 NLT).

Jesus, You promised a place in Your Father’s house to those with troubled hearts. Lord, I need assurance like that.
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27 NKJV).

Jesus, You lived to please Your Father. Lord, I need a relationship like that.
And the one who sent me is with me—he has not deserted me. For I always do what pleases him (John 8:29 NLT).

My Morning Prayer: God Is Changeless

My Morning Prayer: God Is Changeless
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

God Is Changeless
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

I am the Lord, I do not change (Malachi 3:6 AMP).

God never changes. He is perfect—without flaw, error, inconsistency, mistake, or poor judgment. God is not moody. He is always righteous. His goodness, His purity, His holy nature, His justice, and His character are eternal.

Knowing that God is changeless means that you can fully trust Him and wholly obey Him.

God did not begin to love man when Jesus came. Jesus came to roll back the curtain and show man the heart that was eternal, the love that was always there. -G. Campbell Morgan

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Father, God...Your ability to remain perfect in this imperfect world over all eternity amazes me. Thank You for being constantly good, without flaw, error, inconsistency, mistake, or poor judgment. Thank You for not being moody, when my emotions and feelings seem to command my attention to make every decision. Thank You for being righteous, good, and always having pure motives based on Your holiness and purity—so opposite my selfish motives based on my wants. Your justice is greater than any court in the land and Your character traits are eternal and never changing, while mine change moment by moment. I have so much room to grow!

Because of who You are, and HOW You are, help me to trust Your will in every aspect of my life. I want to show my love for You by being obedient and walking in Your will, according to Your Word. Help me to discern Your hand at work in me and throughout my life. Change me. Change me. Change me! In Jesus' name. Amen.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 28

Timely Tidbits of Truth 28
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

When God gives a spiritual gift it is very different from the way that we give gifts. When God gives you a gift He gives Himself along with it. No gift from God comes apart from the Giver.

…The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).

For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen (Romans 11:36).

As You Walk With the Lord—

As You Walk With the Lord—
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

As you walk with the Lord—
You shall not lack peace,
for He is the Prince of Peace;
You shall not lack guidance,
for He goes before you;
You shall not lack comfort,
for His goodness and mercy follow you;
You shall not lack gladness of heart,
for in His presence is fullness of joy;
You shall not lack love,
for He keeps you close to His heart;
You shall not lack hope,
for you will dwell in His house forever…

God’s faithfulness shines upon
the pathway of all your tomorrows
as you walk with the Lord!

The parched ground will become a pool, and springs of water will satisfy the thirsty land. Marsh grass and reeds and rushes will flourish where desert jackals once lived. And a great road will go through that once deserted land. It will be named the Highway of Holiness. Evil-minded people will never travel on it. It will be only for those who walk in God’s ways (Isaiah 35:7-8 NLT).

My Morning Prayer: More Heartfelt Responses Concerning God’s Will

My Morning Prayer: More Heartfelt Responses Concerning God’s Will
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Let love be your greatest aim (1 Corinthians 14:1 TLB).

If what you’re seeking is moving you away from God’s heart, why pursue it?
Lord, I turn my back to all that would turn me away from You. I come to You, I run to You, I press in to know You more and to lay hold of the purpose for which You laid hold of me.

If the outcome is not God’s best, why settle for it?
Lord, I refuse to be content with a life that is run-of-the-mill. I choose the best that love has to give—I choose You.

If God has told you to wait, why push forward?
Lord, I lay down my pushiness, my desire to control and manipulate people and circumstances in order to have things turn out the way I want them to.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 27

Timely Tidbits of Truth 27
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Wise men followed the star they could see because they had first believed in the promise that their eyes had not yet seen. Faith always moves us in the direction of God’s promises, and with faith, believing comes before seeing.

When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy (Matthew 2:10).

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).
