We Have Seen His Glory: Part 7, Thank Him
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and
only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 NIV
God
sent His Son into the world, not to have fun or to be comfortable, but to
suffer and die. His death was not a martyr’s death. His life wasn’t taken from
Him. He offered it up freely. He didn’t die for a cause. He died for us. That one
truth alone gives each person on earth a reason to get up every morning with a
thankful heart.
Think of it, Jesus did more
than die for the world…He did more than die for your neighbor…He died for you.
He died forsaken, so that you would never need to be alone; He died beaten, so
that you could be made whole; He died broken, so that your heart could be
mended. His death brought you life, His poverty brought you riches, His
judgment brought you mercy, and His pain brought you healing. His humility lifted
you up, His obedience made you an heir, and His blood washed you whiter than
snow.
