God Will Not Fail You

When you walk through a dark valley No fear shall grip your soul. When you’re climbing a steep mountain His hand will not let go.
When you’re waiting for an answer To a prayer in Jesus’ name, It will soon be granted you You won’t be brought to shame There’s not a promise He’s ever broken, Nothing’s failed that He has said. He will not forsake you, Like the sparrow you’ll be fed. God will not fail you He will not leave you alone; God will not fail you He does not forsake His own. When in a time of suffering You’re seeking for His touch, His presence will not turn away He loves you much too much. When the pain of a great trial Seems to tear your heart in two, His arms reach out with mercy To sustain and comfort you. There’s not a promise He’s ever broken Nothing’s failed that He has said He will not forsake you, Like the sparrow you’ll be fed. God will not fail you He will not leave you alone; God will not fail you He does not forsake His own.

Because of Jesus, Today is Your Best Day

In God we boast all day long, and praise Your name forever. Psalm 44:8 nkjv
If you are in Jesus Christ and your heart is committed to God’s plan for your life, it means that today is your best day. It’s not your best day because you feel like it is, or because you pretend that it is. It is not your best day because everything is going perfectly, or because you are living in ideal circumstances. It is not your best day because you are in optimum health, or because everything is going your way. Here are four reasons why today is your best day...
  • Today is your best day because you are here. God has placed you in this moment of time for a purpose, and the things that happen to you today will be an unfolding of that purpose. What happened to you yesterday, however easy or difficult, was used by God to help prepare you for what He has for you today.
  • God will use what happens today to prepare you for what He has for you in future days.
  • God has used your past and worked it all together for the good, and He will use this day to add to the good that He has already worked on your behalf.
  • Today is your best day because you can grow a little more in your faith, a little more in your maturity, and a little more in your intimacy with Jesus. Today you can take another step higher as He takes you from glory to glory; take another step deeper as you grow in His love; take another step farther as you obediently walk with Him. Today is your best day because it has brought you one day closer to the coming of the Lord.
You may be going through a very difficult time today, but that does not mean this is your worst day. God will use the difficulty to produce precious things within you that you will treasure in days to come. There may be pressures in your day, but God uses pressure to form diamonds. There may be a fiery trial in your day, but God uses fire to purify gold. There may an irritant in your day, but God uses irritants to create pearls. If you are in need of comfort today, God will bring His comfort to you, and the comfort you receive will help you comfort someone tomorrow.
Corrie ten Boom once said, “God doesn’t have problems, He only has plans.” God doesn’t make bad days for you and good days for you. God makes each day fit perfectly into His plans for you. He made this day so you could glorify Him. He made this day so that He could draw you closer to His heart. He made this day so that you could see your life from faith’s point of view.

Two Truths

A couple of things have been impressed upon my heart this week. Before I share them with you I would like to share a little story I received from a friend the other day. It is a sweet and gentle reminder that the Lord provides. This is what she shared...

“Before entering the grocery store I asked the Lord to guide me as I shopped. I haven’t been hoarding—I’ve waited—and when I was in the checkout line, I’m sure it was the Lord that said, “go check the tp section.”

So I left the checkout line and went over there, and a man was right then bringing out some rolls and said I could take two. Amazing—2 full sized packs of Charmin!!! Now I have enough for the family for a while!”

Two Truths
In the storm we can hear the only voice that speaks with all authority, “Peace, be still.”

When the ground around us is shaking we can stand upon the rock that cannot be shaken.

The following two truths will quiet our spirits and keep us from falling.

Truth #1:  You have the Lord!

Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. Psalm 73:25

There is none besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other. Isaiah 45:6

Is there a God besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock. Isaiah 44:8

Truth #2: The Lord has you!

The Lord upholds me with His hand. Psalm 37:24

You have given me the shield of Your salvation. Your right hand has held me up. Psalm 18:35

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

A Special Treat: An Interview With Roy Lessin

Several years ago, back when we did everything through DaySpring, Roy had the opportunity to do a radio interview with Pastor J. Watson on the "Life and the Bible" radio program. It was here that he shared a bit of his testimony, a little about his life, and specifically overcoming obstacles he has faced in life.
Today, we all are facing uncertainties and obstacles. Although the things we face are different for each of us, our God remains the same. We hope that this broadcast will encourage you, inspire you, and give you a dose of hope today.
Please take note, the book they mention "Today is Your Best Day" is now entitled, "Because of Jesus, Today is Your Best Day." It is still available through DaySpring and the link will be at the bottom of this post. The other links on the YouTube page for "Meet Me in the Meadow" no longer work. You can always contact Roy through me (Marina) here on Facebook in a comment or private message.
In the coming weeks we will be sharing some specially featured content from this book, Because of Jesus, Today is Your Best Day, and also from an old favorite, Fret Busters. We pray that these words will encourage you, empower you, inspire you, and equip you to walk with God through the coming season. We are praying for you, our faithful friends and online family.
Without further delay, here is today's special presentation. Click on this link to hear the radio interview:

Today is Your Best Day: Because Christ Is in You
Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow
For it has pleased God to tell his people
that the riches and glory of Christ
are for you Gentiles, too. For this is the secret:
Christ lives in you, and this is your assurance
that you will share in his glory.
Colossians 1:27 nlt

One of the glorious things about the Christian life is that God not only places you in Christ, but Christ also comes to live in you. It is one thing to be standing in a river and enjoy its benefits as it washes and refreshes you; it as another thing to have the river in you as a result of drinking from its waters. When the river is in you, you receive benefits that differ from the benefits you receive when you are standing in the river. The water now becomes a part of your being as it nourishes your body and supplies it with the minerals it needs to survive.
Being in Christ means that you receive the benefits of all that He has done for you through His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension; Christ being in you means that you receive the benefits of His presence, His character, and His nature within you.
• Being in Christ changes your position before God; Christ being in you changes the inward condition of your heart.
• Being in Christ brings you into heavenly realities; Christ being in you brings heavenly realities into your earthly walk.
• Being in Christ opens your eyes to the beauty of God’s love; Christ being in you floods your heart with that same love.
• Being in Christ allows you to see what God wants you to become; Christ being in you means that you can become what God wants you to be.
Christ in you means that He has begun a good work in you, that He will sustain the work He has begun, and that He will complete the work He has begun. Christ in you means that He does the work of conforming you to His image, that He is the Master Craftsman who is shaping your life, and that He is the True Vine who is producing the good fruit of eternal life within you. Christ in you means that His strength is your strength, His peace is your peace, His power is your power, and His victory is your victory.
God is not asking you to act like Jesus today. He is asking you to surrender to Jesus and trust Him completely to be your life today. Letting Jesus be Jesus in you and through you makes this your best day. Trying to act like Jesus will only wear you down and tire you out. Expecting your efforts to be fruitful would be like cutting a branch off an apple tree and expecting it to grow apples.
The reason an apple tree grows apples is because everything in an apple tree is designed for apples—within the sap is the life of every apple.
Think of this one truth as you go through this day: “Everything that is good, wise, loving, righteous, true, wonderful, kind, and caring is in Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ is living His life in me.”

Still Open!

This is a very different time for all of us. It’s the first time I have seen the world put up a sign that reads, “Closed!” I am so thankful that the sign over the Kingdom of God reads, “Still Open!"

Not only is the Kingdom open, but as believers we have access. Also, in the Kingdom there are no shortages and no empty shelves. Everything is in abundance.

Psalm 23 is a big window that lets us have an amazing view of all that is ours as God’s children. Here are a few of them:
God’s presence is ours—“I will fear no evil; For You are with me.”
God’s peace is ours—“He leads me beside still waters.”
God’s power is ours—“You restore my soul.”
God’s portion is ours—“My cup runs over.”
God’s provision is ours—“I shall not want.”

Each day we are totally dependent upon the Lord. Some days we are more aware of it than others. The Psalmist said, “Trust in the Lord at all times.” Today is one of those times.

Surrendering to God’s Rest

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. Romans 12:1 ASV

In order for us to fully surrender we must understand who we are surrendering to. We are not surrendering our lives to a mean tyrant, to an uncaring person, or to a capricious creator. We need to see our surrender as a surrender to perfect love.
The meaning of full surrender is simply stated in the following quote by François Fénelon,
"It is simply resting in the love God, as a little baby rests in its mother’s arms. Surrender consists, not in doing great, heroic deeds about which self can brag, but simply in accepting whatever God sends, and not seeking to change it (unless it is His will for it to be changed). Full surrender is full peace."

The Importance of Faith

What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see…. So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that there is a God and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him. Hebrews 11:1, 6 NLT
Faith is the hand that reaches up, takes a hold of God’s promise, and gathers in the spiritual treasures that are found in Christ.
What things are possible for you today through faith? All things are possible, because your faith is in the God who knows no impossibilities.

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. Proverbs 25:11 KJV

Lord, speak through me the soothing words that will heal a hurting heart; the wise words that will guide a seeking heart; the assuring words that will comfort a grieving heart; the accepting words that will embrace a lonely heart; the affirming words that will strengthen a fearful heart; the life-giving words that will fill an empty heart.

The Lord is Near

He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5 NKJV

What could be sweeter or dearer than to know that no one is nearer to your heart, your soul, or your deepest desires than the Lord. His caring eyes are upon you, His protecting hands are over you, His assuring voice speaks peace to you, His loving heart responds to you. You can come to Him in quietness and confidence, in faith, in hope, in trust, in thanks, in worship, in praise, and in prayer.
